BarnBuddy Privacy Policy

Information stored by the app

BarnBuddy stores farm profile details, animal/group/hive records, treatments, vaccinations, history events, tasks, inventory, notes and photos that you choose to enter. In Version 1, this information is stored locally on your device.

Camera and photos

Camera access is used only when you choose to photograph an animal, treatment label, receipt-like record, supply or equipment item. Photos are attached to the record on your device. BarnBuddy does not scan your unrelated photo library.

Location and weather

You may optionally save a farm location or GPS coordinates. That information can be used to request local weather or open a weather service. Weather providers may receive the location needed to return a forecast and apply their own privacy policies. BarnBuddy does not require precise location for core recordkeeping.

Data sharing

BarnBuddy does not sell personal data. Version 1 does not automatically share farm records with veterinarians, advertisers or data brokers. If you use your device sharing controls to export information, you choose the destination and are responsible for that sharing.

Accounts, analytics and advertising

Version 1 does not require a separate BarnBuddy account and does not contain third-party advertising. Apple or Google may process purchase and entitlement information for the seven-day trial and lifetime unlock according to the store’s privacy terms. If privacy-preserving diagnostics or store-provided crash reporting are enabled in a distributed build, they may provide technical information such as device model, operating-system version and crash details according to Apple or Google settings; farm record content is not intentionally included.

Retention and deletion

Records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. Use the in-app delete controls carefully. Device backups may retain copies according to your Apple, Google or device-backup settings.

Security and backups

Use your device passcode and keep the operating system current. Because Version 1 is local-first, maintain a current device backup. No method of electronic storage is guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

BarnBuddy is a farm recordkeeping tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a BarnBuddy account in Version 1 because no account is required.

Future cloud and veterinarian features

Future optional cloud backup, team or veterinarian collaboration features will require updated disclosures and appropriate consent before those services collect or synchronize data. This policy will be updated before those features are offered.
